Every time, every time we go to Islands of Adventure we eat lunch here and dessert from Dr. Seuss land before we leave the park. First time me going to the park was in mid June 1999 two weeks after grand opening. Everything was new and cool =o)

  • Baldwin Park Neighborhood, sealbabyclub wrote 16 years ago:
This entire neighborhood was formally a naval training center (NPS, RTC, et. al.). It was closed in 1999, and after a legal battle was sold to a developer who demolished the historic buildings. These buildings included the original nuclear training school buildings. There was also a 9-hole golf course on the base and numerous salvageable structures.

Boot Camp, BE+E School, and Nuclear Power School, 7-7-77 to 11-11-1979. Didn't car for boot camp much, and Nuke School was hard, but I wouldn't trade my time in Orlando for anything. I had really hoped to go back and see the place one day but now I'm saddened to learn it's gone. Oh well.
